Whether you're starting from scratch, or wanting to redesign and refresh your current website, we can work with you to achieve your specific goals.
Websites come in all shapes and sizes, but we will work with you to understand your precise goals, and tailor the design, functionality, and experience of your site to meet and exceed those ends. We design and customize sites based on popular content management systems like Wordpress, to ensure that you have a stable, expandable, and robust platform. We create websites that are responsive, providing an optimal viewing experience across a wide range of screen sizes, ensuring that legibility and ease of navigation is maintained.
We believe that websites can be both beautiful and functional, and will work with you to create a modern, unique and effective web presence. Contact us to discuss your website project and to request a quote!
Step 1. Determine your Goals
What does your website need to do? Do you need to generate business, or create advocacy? What demographics do you want to reach? Who is the site targeted towards? Are you advertising yourself, your business, or your work?
This is the most important part of the process, and if the goal is not clearly defined, then future decisions will not be optimal for what you'd like to achieve. Everything from the design, to the content, to the underlying technology that will be used depends on this goal, and we'll do our best determine this as specifically as possible based on discussions with you and your business.
Step 2. Determine User Needs
Now that we know the goal of the website, we have to figure out how the website will accomplish that goal. In order to do this, it helps to step into the shoes of your customers and look at things from their point of view. Upon arriving at your website, what will they want to see? What questions will they have that need to be answered?
This leads us to discuss how the website will work, i.e. how the user will move through the website with the end goal of making contact with you or your company.
Step 3. Determine Content, Organization & Navigation
Once we know who the user is and how the website will work, we can determine the right content. The content is the most important element of a website and yet, it’s also the most overlooked.
This is the time to make a list of all the content needed and determine if you already have the content, or if you need to research and create it. In most cases, it's a bit of both.
The user experience is extremely important and good navigation can make or break a site. The content needs to be organized so the user can easily find what they’re looking for. We want people to move about the site quickly and intuitively by using the least amount of clicks.
Step 4. Design the Look
While many people think the look of the website would be the first step, it’s not. The design is influenced by many things so until we know how the website needs to work, it’s difficult to come up with an ideal design to support those things.
We look to our clients for input and feedback on the design, keeping in mind user needs take priority over everything else. The home page is designed first, so the client can review the general look and feel before we move on to apply this look to everything else.
Step 5: Launch and Maintenance
Once you are completely happy with the final product, we get it launched.
But that's the beginning. It's a best practice to consistently update and expand your new website. This keeps your content fresh, which benefits your rankings and your customers. We offer a range of maintenance packages, from basic security and software updates, to fully featured packages that include regular content, design, e-commerce, e-marketing, and SEO services. Canada Computing
